This recipe shows you How to beef up your Mac and Cheese dinner. It is so good you can’t taste the spinach! It is hearty, creamy and cheesy. It also heats up as left overs pretty well. Beef up your Mac and Cheese tonight!

Beef Up your Mac and Cheese
We did use the powdered cheese because the kids like it like this and it is not something we do that often. You can opt out of the powdered cheese and add in extra shredded cheese and maybe a little cream cheese. You will make the meat and the mac and cheese separately and when done I combine for each dish individually, not all together. Enjoy!

The Meat for Beefed Up Mac and Cheese
Beefed Up Mac & Cheese
Ingredients
- 1.25 pound ground beef
- 2 cups spinach
- 5 gloves garlic
- 1/4 of an onion
- 1 can black beans
- 1 tsp old bay
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 3 boxes mac and cheese
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese – shredded
- 1/2 cup Mexican blended shredded cheese
- 3 packs powdered cheese from the boxes
- 12 tbsp butter – melted little extra for the meat
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions
- chop up the spinach, onion and garlic
- sauté in pan with butter, old bay and pepper
- meat – brown the meat – add it to the garlic, onions and spinach
- add the beans in, they just need to be warm
- drain the meat and set aside
- boil the pasta, drain
- add the butter, milk and powdered cheese and then the shredded cheeses
- dish out the meat to a bowl, then the mac and cheese – mix together.
