CRYOTHERAPY… everything you need to know
How to FREEZE your TUFFET off…
Why not give it a shot right? Monday sounded like a good day to convince my body that it was so cold it was dying! Cryotherapy numbs nerves and freezes tissues at a cellular level… basically destroying cells and making your body think it is dying… but the benefits are worth it!
ICE BOX (Oviedo) has been trying to open since before COVID. They were finally able to get all the equipment in and up and running so I decided to give them a shot. Walking in… it is very zen and clean! The COVID precautions are ON POINT!!! The staff is a perfect blend of kind and attentive without being too much… very good balance.

My Experience with Cryo and Leg Compression Therapy….
Walking in… PLEASE sanitize and grab a mask if you do not have one. I was scheduled for the full body cryo and the leg compressions so I was handed a FRESH robe and FRESH sox (very jazzy). Then I was brought back to the changing area. All jewelry and clothing comes off and gets locked up, there are spots for bags and sneakers as well. Please keep your panties ON under the robe (no need to freeze your junk off), jazzy sox on and into the booties they provide (several sizes are available in your changing room).
CRYO-TIME
Once you have your snuggly robe on you will head over to the cryo chamber… this looks like a pod from a sci-fi movie. Next step… sanitize hands, plastic gloves on, snuggly gloves on. Earmuffs… your choice… my choice is – HELLZ YES!!! The staff will then go over some health questions with you… this is very quick. The door to the full body will be partially opened… you will then step in and hand the staff member your robe. It is now time FREEZE your TUFFET off!!! The temperatures drop to lower than 200 degrees Fahrenheit. THREE minutes is a LONG time to be that cold. Not going to lie… I did have to actively keep myself calm. About 1 minute in I did feel my heart beating faster and my breathing increasing. I could feel myself starting to freak the fuck out! Thankfully… the staff stays with you. The window is slightly down and they are right outside the window. They spoke to me and had me turn a 1/4 turn every 30 seconds. I was tensing up bad (normally I am pretty chill), talked my self down in my head and controlled my breathing. I HATE THE COLD!!! I was so happy when the door partially opened and they handed me my robe. The staff took the snuggly gloves and the earmuffs from me and we threw away the plastic gloves. I then headed back to the changing room… time to de-robe and take the snuggly slippers off… but keep the jazzy sox ON.
LEG COMPRESSION TIME
When your clothes are back on… head out of the changing room with your robe, place this in the laundry bin so it can be sanitized for the next victim. Your jazzy sox are still on because you will head over to the leg compression area. Grab a recliner…. and the staff will place your leg in giant sleeves then hook you up to a machine. You will start 25minutes of compression. Sit back… have some water… take some much needed ME time. When this time has ended… the jazzy sox go into the laundry bin. My time ended at this point but they do offer several other services… check out the pictures and pricing below.
- Day 2 – I could feel my nose hairs sticking together!
- Once back in the changing room, I sat down and could not stop rocking back and forth and shivering for a few minutes.
- My legs were so cold I almost forgot to my pants back on.
- leg compression was great… I walk a shit ton,,, this made my legs feel AMAZING!!!
